DAY 1: ARRIVE at DELHI, OUR SERVICES BEGIN FROM HERE
Namaste! Today you will arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. A Hotel Ajanta representative will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name and you will then be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure. DAY 2: DELHI CITY TOUR
This morning after breakfast first you will visit old Delhi. The Raj Ghat, Red fort & Jama Masjid Chandni Chowk spice market, the largest spice market. By afternoon proceed to visit New Delhi. The Qutub Minar, tallest stone tower in India, imposing India Gate and the Rastrapathi Bhawan, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Lotus Temple and newly built Akshardham temple are of much significance. By evening return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 3: DELHI TO AGRA EN-ROUTE VISIT SIKANDRA TOMB
This morning after breakfast proceed to Agra. En-route you will visit Sikandar tomb. Upon arrival at Agra, check into your hotel. After freshening up proceed to Agra city tour. Visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the incomparable Taj Mahal. The world’s greatest monument dedicated to love. Next you will visit Agra Fort. It was built in 1565 by India’s greatest Mughal ruler, Emperor Akbar. Its royal audience halls, immense stone courtyards, marble mosque and the private royal chambers give us a glimpse of the grandeur of the Mughal Empire. You may also visit the famous tomb of Itmad-Ud–Daulah. This memorial was built by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir’s queen as a memorial to her father. By evening return to your hotel. OR if you want, you can visit the Tajmahal, the next morning at sunrise.
DAY 4: AGRA TO JAIPUR VIA FATEHPUR SIKRI.
This morning after breakfast proceed to Jaipur. En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri.built by Emperor Akbar between 1570 and 1585 and is constructed primarily with red sandstone. Visit the tallest gateway in the world, the towering Bulund Darwaza (The Gate of Victory). In the northern part of the courtyard is the superb white marble tomb of Shaik Salim Chishti, built in 1570. Continue driving to Jaipurvia many Rajasthani villages. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Rest of the evening is at your leisure. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
DAY 5: JAIPUR CITY TOUR
This morning after breakfast visit Amber fort, built in 16th century and enjoy an elephant ride at Amber. Drive past the Hawa Mahal-a Palace of Winds. In the afternoon you will visit the City Palace and museum. Walk adjacent Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory. By evening return to your hotel. Stay overnight at your hotel in Jaipur.
DAY 6: JAIPUR TO PUSHKAR VIA AJMER.
This morning after breakfast drive to Pushkar. En-route you will pass by many Rajasthani villages. En-route, you will visit Ajmer, the holy city of Muslims and Dargah Khwaja Sahib, one of the holiest Muslim shrines in the country. From here, drive to Pushkar. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. By afternoon visit Pushkar, 14 km North West from Ajmer and at an average elevation of 510 meters (1673 feet) It is one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites for devout Hindus). It is often called “Tirth Raj”- the king of pilgrimage sites, and has in recent years become a popular destination for foreign tourists. Pushkar is one of the oldest cities of India. It lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake. The date of its origin is not known, but legend associates Lord Brahma with its creation. It is mentioned that Brahma performed penance here for 60,000 years to have a glimpse of Vishnu. Places to visit : BRAHMA TEMPLE Jagatpita Brahma Mandir is a Hindu temple situated in Pushkar in the Indian state of Rajasthan, close to the sacred Pushkar Lake to which its legend has an indelible link. The temple is one of the very few existing temples dedicated to the Hindu creator god Brahma in India and remains the most prominent among them. Overnight stay in Pushkar.
DAY 7: PUSHKAR TO UDAIPUR.
This morning after breakfast drive to Udaipur. En-route you will pass by many Rajasthani villages. By afternoon you will arrive in Udaipur. Check into your hotel. By evening you may take a walking tour on your own through the narrow lanes and back streets of Udaipur up to the Washing Ghats at the lake Pichola. By late evening return to your hotel. Overnight stay in Udaipur.
DAY 8: UDAIPUR CITY TOUR
This morning after breakfast, be prepared for a city tour of Udaipur, also known as the city of Lakes. It is the historic capital of the former kingdom of Mewar in Rajasthan. Lake Pichola , Fateh Sagar Lake , Udai Sagar and Swaroop Sagar in the city are considered some of the most beautiful lakes in the state. Places to visit: CITY PALACE. City Palaceis a palace complex in Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was built by Maharana Udai Mirza Singh as the capital of the Sisodia Rajput clan in 1559, after he moved from Chittor. It is located on the Eastern bank of the Lake Pichola and has several palaces built within its complex. Udaipur was the historical capital of the former kingdom of Mewar in the Rajputana Agency and its last capital as well.
JAGDISH TEMPLE is one of the famous temples of Udaipur. Located in the city palace complex of Udaipur, this temple is made in the Indo Aryan style of architecture. In 1651, Jagdish temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh, who ruled Udaipur during 1628-53. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Laxmi Narayan), the preserver of the universe.
JAG MANDIR is a palace built on an island in the Lake Pichola . It is also called the "Lake Garden Palace". Its construction is credited to three Maharanas of the Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar kingdom. It is named as "Jagat Mandir" in honour of the last named Maharana Jagat Singh.
SAHELION KI BARI is one the most beautiful gardens and a major tourist destination in Udaipur. The garden is famous for its lush green lawns, marble art and fountains. English translation of saheliyon ki bari means “Garden of maids”. By evening return to your hotel. Overnight stay in Udaipur.
DAY 9: UDAIPUR TO JODHPUR VIA RANAKPUR
This morning after breakfast drive to Jodhpur. Enroute you will pass by many Rajasthani villages & visit Ranakpur, famous for Jain Temples. The Ranakpur Jain Temples were built during the reign of the liberal and gifted monarch Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. An enormous basement covers 48,000 sq. feet area. There are four subsidiary shrines, twenty-four pillared halls and eligibly domes supported by over four hundred columns. Visit Muchhal Mahaveer Temple- The distinctive feature of this Jain temple is the statue of Lord Mahavira with a moustache. From here proceed to Jodhpur. Check into your hotel. DAY 10: JODHPUR CITY TOUR
This morning after breakfast take a city tour of Jodhpur. Jodhpur is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was formerly the seat of a princely state of the same name, the capital of the kingdom known as Marwar. Jodhpur is a popular tourist destination, featuring many palaces, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar Desert.
MEHRANGARH FORT: The fort is situated on a lofty height, 400 feet (122 m) above the city, and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. Inside its boundaries there are several palaces, which are known for their intricate carvings and sprawling courtyards. A meandering road leads to and from the city below. Battle scars of cannon ball hits by attacking armies of Jaipur can still be seen on the second gate. To the left of the fort is the Chhatri of Kirat Singh Soda, a soldier who fell on the spot defending the Mehrangarh Fort.
JASWANT THADA:-The monument in its entirety is built out of intricately carved sheets of marble. These stones are extremely thin and polished so that they emit a warm glow when the sun’s rays dance across their surface. Within this cenotaph there are also two more tombs. Jaswant Thada is a traditional cremation ground of Jodhpur rulers. The grounds also include exquisitely carved gazebos, a beautiful multitiered garden and a small lake. Umaid Bhavan Palace, located in Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India is one of the world’s largest private residences. A part of the palace is managed by Taj Hotels. Named after Maharaja Umaid Singh, grandfather of the present owners of the palace, this monument has 347 rooms and it serves as the principal residence of the erstwhile Jodhpur royal family. Umaid Bhavan palace was called Chittar Palace during its contraction due to its location on Chittar Hill, the highest point in Jodhpur. The foundation of the building was laid on 18th November, 1929 by Maharaja Umaid Singh and the construction work was completed in 1943. Jodpur is famous as the Blue City of India. DAY 11: JODHPUR TO JAISALMER
This morning after breakfast drive to Jaisalmer. Enroute you will pass by many Rajasthani villages & drive through the great Indian desert. By afternoon you will arrive in Jaisalmer. Check into your hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
DAY 12: JAISALMER CITY TOUR, EVENING EXCURSION TO SAND DUNES, ENJOY A CAMEL SAFARI AND A SPECTACULAR SUNSET.
This morning after breakfast start off for a city tour of Jaisalmer. Visit Sonar Fort housing a fourth of city's residents, Patwon Ki Haveli-one of the most exquisite havelis with a beautifully latticed facade, Salim Singh ki Haveli- just three centuries old and is still lived in. Its arched roof is held up by well executed brackets in the form of peacocks. Nathmalji ki Haveli built by two architect brothers is also worth admiring. You may also take a walking tour through markets. In the evening proceed to sand dunes & enjoy a camel safari and a spectacular sunset. By late evening, return to Jaisalmer. DAY 13: JAISALMER TO BIKANER
This morning after breakfast proceed to Bikaner through the great Indian Thar Desert & pass through many Rajasthani villages. Upon arrival at Bikaner, check into your hotel. After freshening up, proceed to visit Junagarh, which is a fort in the city of Bikaner. The fort was originally called Chintamani and was renamed Junagarh or “Old fort” in the early 20th century.
Visit GAJNER PALACE: Gajner Palace is a jewel in the Thar Desert, built by HH Maharaja Sir Ganga of Bikaner on the edge of a lake. A visit to Deshnok’s fascinating temple of Karni Mata, an incarnation of Durga. By evening return to your hotel. Overnight stay in Bikaner.
DAY 14: BIKANER TO DELHI VIA MANDAWA.
This morning after breakfast proceed to Mandawa & pass through many Rajasthani villages. En-route visit Mandawa. Here you can take a walking tour of the old havelies, belonging to some of the leading business families of the country. You can also visit the Mandawa Castle. From there, drive to Delhi. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 15: Transfer to Airport
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Airport or railway station for your onwards journey.
